215 Chain – Lightweight Drive Chain for Mini Classes in Karting
The 215 chain has been used for several years in lower-powered classes, particularly in Mini karting. It is a lighter and smoother-running alternative to the proven 219 chain.
Thanks to its lower weight, the 215 chain reduces rotating mass and ensures especially smooth operation – ideal for lower-powered engines.
Technical Specifications of the 215 Chain
The 215 chain (type 215) differs clearly in its dimensions from the 219 version:
- Pitch: 7.75 mm (pin center to pin center)
- Inner width: approx. 3.8 mm (between the inner plates)
Even though the differences may appear minor, they are technically critical.
Warning: Do not confuse the 215 chain with the 219 chain!
⚠ Important Notice:
The 215 chain is visually very similar to a 219 chain.
However, mixing up these two chain types will inevitably result in immediate damage to the drivetrain. Since the front sprocket and rear sprocket must be precisely matched to the respective chain type, extreme care is required when selecting components.
Advantages of the 215 Chain in Mini Karting
- lower weight
- smoother running characteristics
In Mini classes, the 215 chain delivers very strong performance in karting applications.
