The new KG POWER Airbox main characteristic is an improved dynamic within the lower chamber-case and has to do with the airflow directed to the carburetor. The new intake boot is designed to minimize air leaks, and the carburetor now able to intake directly from the chamber behind the filter, now allowing a bigger volume, very close to the regulatory limits – and so especially valuable with the use of KZ engines with 30mm carburetor. This specific intake boot is very short and inclined at 5 degrees, fitting perfectly, therefore permits an Ideal installation for an air inflow parallel to the ground, optimizing the dynamic performance. An additional intake boot with an increased inclination angle will be included in the box to allow for tuning options, having less “push” so that airbox could be mounted pointing toward the ground. This to accommodate engines that required such positioning and space for the driver if necessary. The most important new factor for the KG POWER airbox is the cooperation between KG and SPRINT FILTER , and the creation of a totally new filter element and case. SPRINT FILTER, being operative since 1952, is the oldest manufacturer of performance Air Filters in the World, and currently the Leader supplier for the Motorsport Industry worldwide. SPRINT FILTER and KG demonstrated to be an ideal partnership to improve the quality of the final product of an airbox with internal filter, as required in karting regulations. Based on the specific design of the new KG POWER AIRBOX cases, SPRINT FILTER developed a custom size item based on the multiple patented air filter in polyester SPRINT FILTER is also the only air filter worldwide including waterproof technology, in fact SPRINT FILTER own the patent for the technology required in the production of waterproof air filters based on a very special treatment on the filter element. The SPRINT FILTER also distinguish itself from any other filter as the only one ever lasting, not requiring oils to catch impurities, and able to regenerate itself within seconds by air compressed cleaning. This filter is made of a perfectly calibrated core of polyester, whereby the core itself determine a constant of the holes for air passage, as of 37 microns, constantly. All of the filters are the same and do not change in time. In contrast, cotton filters used also on the model NITRO are not so constant, specifically due to the nature. The polyester core here used should not be confused with the TNT in polyester, which is in fact like a paper, used in many economic filters, with poor performance of air permeability. The polyester core of SPRINT FILTER used on the KG POWER airbox is perfectly calibrated and smooth, with perfectly costance.
